Product Information
The IGBT driver module of the original manufacturer Transtechnik GmbH,TT1394-3, can be replaced by a redesign that is plug-and-play compa-
tible as well as functionally and mechanically compatible.
The redesign essentially incorporates three hybrid Semidriver modules, SKHI 22A (from Semikron), each capable of driving a half-bridge and featuring internal galvanic isolation of 2.5 kV between the control circuitry and the IGBT driver. On the primary side, various monitoring
circuits are implemented for under- and overvoltage detection, as well as input Schmitt triggers with CMOS-compatible switching thresholds in positive logic (input high = IGBT on). In addition, an interlock for the ‘upper’ and ‘lower’ IGBTs is provided, effectively preventing both IGBTs from being turned on simultaneously. A dead time is implemented between the control signals for the upper and lower IGBTs. The secondary side of the driver modules includes short-circuit monitoring with shutdown functionality and reports driver malfunctions via a fault memory at the ERROR output. The peripheral circuitry of the Semidriver modules is used for module operation and signal conditioning and has no direct influence on the control of the IGBTs. The TT1394-3 assembly is primarily used to drive Semitrans IGBT modules from Semikron in three-phase bridge configurations.
